Heading into the Valley of Fire. Valley of Fire is an outcropping of red rocks in among gray rock hills and mountains. 36,000 acre park with 150 million year old frozen in place sand dunes now exposed to the elements and have been sculpted into weird gorges, domes and pinnacles and numerous geological oddities. Petrified wood.
