The rally is cooking.
Lots of seminars, I took this one on RV absorption refrigerators and another from the couple I learned to blog from-Geeks on Tour. John took some on RV parts like shocks and generators. The afternoon entertainment was a comedy duo Bernie and Red.
The rally is at the county fair grounds and there are also other events going on like this kids and teens barrel racing and goat roping. I didn’t move to Cody, WY till I was 12, so I missed a lot of this country stuff. But I suspect there were no barrel riders with tattoos in the late 60’s.
Or texting cowgirls. I think it ends up being a big Gillette teen social event.
The goat roping kids were so cute. This little girl held the goats until the riders got close. Then these little kids jumped off huge horses running before the horse even stops, wrestles the goats down and hog ties three of their legs together.
The the girls were riding barrels in the background the whole time. Meanwhile back at the rally the grandstands were full for a concert by the Buckingham's, still performing after 45 years. Lots of nostalgic music. Old people gone wild. People were swaying and waving their arms in the crowd, women were dancing. Rving must keep you young.
The Buckingham’s. Notice the handicap section. In the parking lot are bikes, scooters, wheel chairs and golf carts too. Our bus is strategically parked in the front, right behind the first pole. We walked.
A fish eye shot- magic special effect from my camera of the parking lot and race track near sunset from the grandstand.
