February 21-22, 2016 Shoshone, California

Started the day with a wild flower walk. I was delighted that I walked 3 miles and my knee was fine. Woo Hoo.

The walk was with the Amargosa Conservancy. The director Patrick –in the cowboy hat- lead the hike. It was very informative. The flowers are blooming early and in great profusion from all the rain this year. Sun cups, purple mat, desert stalked puffball, false wooly daisies.

Full moon rise. Wacky looking clouds tonight, I think they are spent jet trails.

X-rated palm tree. Judy and John hiked the 7th day segment of the B2B hike, Shoshone to Tecopa, with no overnight packs. This is what John’s poor feet looked like afterwards from trying to wear boots. He taped up over blisters and hot spots. This is why he usually wears chacos when he hikes, well all of the time.

Judy and John on the evening  7 of the B2B hike at the Tecopa Hot Springs resort.  We got to soak and then have dinner at the Internet Cafe in Tecopa. I am liking this B2B hike, I have spent three nights in motels and out to dinner with them!! Sunset Monday night in Tecopa.

John took this photo in the morning of the moon set and first light on Sheep Head Peak.  Of course, since I was not up that early. Judy leaving on day 8 of the B2B hike. In her back pack are 2 gallons of water and two days worth of food since the next two days are not close enough to a road to cache water and food.
