Here are a couple photos of us that our friend Emmett took of us at Death Valley. Judy and I at breakfast and me giving John a big smack for the camera.
When we got back from Death Valley Friday I rushed over and set up my exhibit at the Shoshone Craft Sale. I forgot that I usually do better at Art shows than Craft shows. It was a three day sale and I didn’t do that great. Most of my sales were to the other vendors there. It was fun, the other venders were interesting and the two sisters behind me selling yard ornaments made from plates were a crack up.
One of them traded me a blue ornament for Judy’s yard for a pendant. The vultures arrived back in town for the summer. This is them at sunset with the rising moon.
Same sunset a bit later. I started this basket at the Death Valley art show last weekend. The pine needle artist across from our booth taught me how to make baskets the way she makes them. She gave me the center piece that is set in resin, and the black cord to try. A week later and hours and hours of slow labor it looks like this. Still working on it.
The sunrise on the way to Pahrump Monday morning. You ask why me who is not a morning person saw this. Well Laurie had a minor medical problem which involved taking his sleeping pill late at night-midnight, then getting up early-4 am to head home to the bay area. He was confused and incoherant so was rushed off to the hospital to get checked out. He was fine and by noon the sleeping pill had worn off and he was back to normal. But gave us a scare in the am. This photo is right before he was released.
Jill who was in Las Vegas still came over for moral support. There was a shortage of chairs in the room so Jill and I shared this narrow chair, Jill up front, me in the back. It was so much fun that Judy joined us.
Laurie took us all out to lunch at the Grill at the golf course. Then the sunset was spectacular also. It wouldn’t all fit in one photo, so here it is in two.
