March 23, 2016 Mosaic Canyon, Death Valley, California

We headed into Mosiac canyon. It is right across the canyon from Stove Pipe. It is one of the most popular hikes in the canyon, but extremely beautiful.

The canyon starts with a fantastic narrows of polished marble.

John in the polished marble. Most of the crowd turns around at the end of the first narrows. We continued up.

You have to climb up a bit to get to the second narrows which are also pretty cool. John climbing back down on the way back from the second narrows.

The canyon gets it name from the mosaic of rocks cemented together and then polished on the walls. Back in the polished marble.

The lower narrows are usually pretty crowded. John people watching.

Sunset was lovely. Our friends Jeff and Jen arrived just in time for a yummy dinner prepared by John and then we hiked on the sand dunes under the light of the full moon.

Suep, John, Jen and Jeff in the back. The next morning our friends Pat and Robin dropped by. We missed them by not coming Monday, but they gave us another chance. Pat, Suep, John and Robin.
