November 13, 2020 Hovenweep National Monument

High 50's and sunny. We visited Hovenweep national Monument.

Hovenweep National Monument. Juniper tree and berries, cliff dwelling wall and snow covered mountains.  The Cajon canyon dwellings. Each village was built at the head of small canyons with a spring.

We walked the 2 mile Square tower loop. Hovenweep Castle.

I love this Eroded Boulder house. Tower on this side and one across the canyon.

Hovenweep House. Hovenweep house with the Hovenweep Castle across the canyon.

The huge Square tower is in the canyon.

Round tower and cool rocks, Twin Towers with the dwelling across the canyon in the top right of it. The visitors center is back in the trees.

John descending into the steep canyon, watch your step. Stairs on the Steep Canyon trail. The cursed desert glass basket is coming right along. It is 11 x 9 inches so far.
