High of 71 and sunny.
We drove up to Durango to visit friends. On the way we went through Aztec, NM with a population of 6378 friendly people and 6 old soreheads, the winner All American City. We left New Mexico and entered Colorful Colorado and arrived in Durango. We met Jeff and my friend Barb. Barb and I were good friends in the early 80's when I lived in Durango. It has been way too long since we have seen each other. It was great to see both. Jeff, John and Barb.
Here are a couple of photos of Barb and I from the early 80s.
Barb and I yesterday. We've been friends since the early 80's. Great to see her. After our afternoon at the brewery we spent the night at Jeff's lovely home. Jeff cooking us breakfast in the morning. Fun to see Jeff and his home. Jeff lived in his van down by the river and traveled for 6 years and finally settled down in Durango.
Beautiful historic downtown Farmington, New Mexico. Sunset tonight from our campsite in Farmington.
The waxing crescent moon. Sunset over the lake we are camped by.
I finished this masterpiece. It is made from dyed pine needles, gold and copper metallic thread, polyester thread and glass beads. The center is a piece of dichroic glass that I beveled and polished. Pictures to not do the center justice. I sparkles gold/copper/purple and mixtures of. It is 6 x 5 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. I am now working on this new one. It is made with dyed pine needles, polyester thread and a dichroic piece of glass that I beveled and polished. It has all the colors of the rainbow in it. It is 4 1/2 by 2 1/4 inches so far.
I have more photos from our hike today to the Valley of Dreams to see the Alien Throne, but way too many to fit on this blog page, so they will have a separate one.
