June 25-29, 2024 Fort Collins, Colorado

98 degrees today and mostly sunny.

We met Mandy for dinner at the Rio. Great to see her and the food was wonderful. Sylvia stopped at the table to say hi too. Kids playing in the fountain at Old Town Square. Running, laughing squealing. Having a blast.

A deer on the bike path. Sunset over the river by the water park.

Sunset with the Waves sculpture at the water park. Sunset on the bike path.

We are buying a new 4 wheel drive vehicle to tow behind the bus and for John to drive. Looking at this Chevy Colorado. No other colors unless we want to spend more. Also looked at Jeeps.  Free music in Old Town Square tonight

Sunset under possible thunder storm. But it went past us. John cleaned out his 21 year old van and put the seats back in to trade it in. I have never seen it with seats, or this clean.

We are now the proud owners of this brand new, beautiful, metallic bronze 2024 Chevy Colorado. A gift from my little brother's estate. Thank you Jerry! It will be tricked out with a bed liner, a topper, kayak racks, bike racks and equipped to be the tow vehicle behind our bus. Which means it will get a plate screwed to the bottom with attachments for the tow bar, wiring for the lights and some kind of braking so it brakes when the bus brakes. Woo hoo! Weds John is getting the bed liner sprayed in and he ordered a topper similar to this, that will be painted to match the truck. They are also putting lift assist kayak racks on it.

We need to rearrange a lot of things to make room for the new truck. My new kiln on it's new rolling cart. I ran it last night and it works really well.

My studio is getting more cramped. Well the whole garage is. This new truck is much bigger than John's van was.  See my small kiln on my work bench, The larger blue one  and the new one in the corner with the tools under a kayak. Sunset looks a lot like the one night before. The sunset sneaking in under a big cloud deck.

Ominous looking sky when I headed out  to bike tonight .

Rain on it's way. We had a couple real loud thunders and a little bit of rain.

June 18-23 2024, Fort Collins, Colorado

High of 70, mostly cloudy and a bit of rain.

I picked up my new kiln. Now where to put it. . .  It has a drop out bottom so I can comb glass. I rearranged things and it is now on the rolling cart by my work bench.

John is making me some raised beds for my tomatoes and basil. What a sweetie.  Sunset  Tues pm.

John's brother Pat is visiting and he took us out to dinner at the Rio. Yum yum. Thanks Pat! Pat and John  We went to Walrus Ice cream for dessert. This is one of the many walrus items in the ice cream parlor.

John and Pat with their ice cream at Walrus.  Sort of a sunset tonight.

My raised bed that John is making is almost done. He is going to install under ground watering to it tomorrow, then I can plant all the plants I have sitting on it. It is beautiful! Lovely light on my bike ride tonight.

Cool  looking ranch house. Nice view of the  lake in evening light.

Sunset over the bike path.

High of 96 and mostly sunny. A strong wind and rain came about dinner time. We were going to eat out on our deck, but the wind blew one of the TV trays off the deck After the rain I went biking and caught this rainbow. There is a rainbow in the this second photo by the phone pole, it was reflected, but I guess  you could only see it through my sunglasses.

Meadow Rue. In the very center over the bridge is a very faint rainbow.

Sunset.

North park was really green with the  Mt Zirkel wilderness mountains in the back ground. Fields of wild iris.

Beautiful historic downtown Walden, Colorado.  Green fields with the rocky mountains .

The Howling Coyote in Gould Colorado is open with aspen trees and dandelions. Aspen, dandelions and the mountains in Rocky Mountain National park.

Noku crags and mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park.  We made it Fort Collins. The bus is parked at the fire station where John worked so we can unpack it.

Bags of things to unpack at  home. The water park on my evening bike ride.
