Another beautiful day spent relaxing. Reading in the sun. Short bike ride to get a little exercise.
Yup, 80 degrees today. Good day to bike around. This is how I remember Furnace Creek Campground. This is the tent area. The first time I ever stayed in Death Valley it was at this campground-about 20 years ago, it was around 100 degrees, windy, dusty and hot. I slept in a tent that kept being picked up by the wind, then flattened by the wind. I wondered why I said I would go on a 10 day trip here with my sisters family. Fortunately it got better every day.
Old Dinah replaced the 20 mule teams for awhile, then she was replaced by the railroad. Texas spring campground is more in the foot hills here. Lovely campground, but no generators, so we are at a less scenic on where we can run the generator and charge the batteries.
View from Texas spring campground. These ravens hang out on dead trees by the campground. They flew off when I tried to get their photo. No clouds tonight, so no dramatic sunset.
