Auburn, Calif 11/9

I dodged the bullet yesterday. John, Bubba and Mark kayaked Chamberlin Falls on the American river yesterday. I was supposed to go, but the road to the easy stuff was not real drive able when it is muddy.  John says I would have hated him if I did the falls with them. He  forgot his camera, so you will just have to imagine it. They had a ball. When it rains here in the fall it is the start of the boating season, the rivers run when it rains.

It is raining again today. I accidentally had a cleaning frenzy and scrubbed the shower, bathroom and tile floors. It was Johns fault. He cleaned his computer screen with a vinegar and water combination as directed by the computer company. There was some left so not wanting to waste it I put it in the shower to get rid of water marks, and it went from there. Fortunately the frenzy wore out after that. I got a bike ride in  between storms. I baked chocolate chip cookies. I am now working on my new hobby. Basket weaving. I retire and take up basket weaving. Isn't that what they do in mental hospitals?

I am working on my third basket. The first two were a mess. But this one is coming along well.

\Here I am in my new chair that John got me last summer. It turns around and is the passenger seat when we drive. The new basket is in my hand. This is the photo from the book of what it should look like when it is done. It is 13 inches tall and 10 inches wide. I have a ways to go.

John entertaining himself. He bought a new computer game today. The galley is in the background, with clean dishes. Just so you don't think we are slobs.
This is to help you imagine John kayaking. This is from his facebook site, from another trip.
