Calistoga, Ca 11/1

Wow, a sunny warm day. Did wonders for my mood after 2 weeks of rain. The rain ruined the grapes here. They are just leaving them on the vine, since they can't use them. I guess the clusters are really tight and if water gets in they mold.

We went bike riding today. Wonderful to be out.

Saw some wild life.

And Egret and Snake.

The Silverado Winery has a gondola that you ride up to the winery on the ridge. You can't drive. It costs $25 per person. We passed.

Calistoga Spring water, bottled at the source since 1924.

When I taste wine is almost all tastes the same after a couple vineyards. The winery's are way over the top here. Like the Las Vegas of winery's.  It is worth it to just see them. They each charge  $20-50 to tour and taste. We just rode around and looked at buildings. Huge castles, Victorians, gondolas, gardens, caves, cellars etc. Incredible. Since Calisgtoga is at the north end of the valley they say  it is the cork in the bottle of vineyards in Napa Valley.
