August 12-16, 2018 Fort Collins to Poudre Canyon, Colorado

Only a day or two away from leaving!!

Last day of West Fest. I thought they music was going until 10 pm again tonight like the last two nights. But no it stopped at 7 pm and I missed that last show. . . Oh well I could hear it from the house. Crowds at the booths and the Rio brought their fountain to the show.

But the bonus was I got to go on a nice bike ride at sunset instead. Pretty nice.

The masterpieces are done. My fix on the bubble between the deer's legs on aspen piece just made it worse. Oh well. The bottom two are small pieces where I was playing around with sun rays through fog in the forest. The trees look more like cactus tho. All still came out cute. The afternoon light on the bike path over the Poudre river tonight riding to dinner.

I passed this Industrial Hemp seed field riding my bike to John and Mandy's house for dinner. Smelled great. When I got to John and Mandy's John brought out 4 different kinds of tequila for me to taste. I love tequila. He even has special tequila glasses.

John, Mandy and John at dinner. We had  wonderful fajitas. And tequila. I am making one of these to; send to a glass museum in West Virginia. The top one I made first and ended up with a bubble between the deer's back legs and tried to hide it behind a leaf and made it worse. So I made the one on the bottom is a second one I made. The deer has only tiny bubbles, but none that look obscene

The Glass museum has a wall called the USA glass collection. A piece from every state. The space for Colorado is empty so I am sending the small aspen piece to them. I didn't want to send the one with a big mistake in the middle. What would people think of the glass artists in Colorado if I did, so I made the second one for them. I hope they use it. These are 3 of the 4 aspen pieces I made this trip. The bigger one will live at the house until it sells. I love the colors in these.

We are back on the road!!John having dinner at our campsite and sunset from camp.

The bus at our campsite at Dutch George on the Poudre River, 30 miles west of Fort Collins. It is wonderful to on the road again. Mandy and Sally came up to visit. Mandy is helping John to open the door on the other side of the bay, she has to crawl through.

Sunset light of the views from camp.

John cooking dinner and sunset.
