August 19-20, 2018 Poudre canyon, Colorado

Another rainy day so we went hiking up the Big South canyon.

John on the trail. Pink flowers, red and white berries, Entering travel zone sign, arnica and fireweed.

Wild raspberries, pine drops, pearly everlasting, red berries, and senecio. The river alongside the trail.

John walking through an aspen grove. The river and rain up canyon.

On the way back there were briefs periods of sunshine.  John walking through purple asters in the rain.

Fall colors on the hillside. Looking down on the river.

Wet geranium, buckwheat, golden rod and an swirly tree. The next day we drove up to Pingree park, this is the view over the park into Rocky Mountain National Park.

There was huge fire in 2012 that burned this area. Views of dead trees from the road. There was so much smoke in the air from currently burning fires it was like fog in the distance.

John relaxing in camp while I was cooking dinner. More clouds blocking sunset, so this was all we got for color.
