August 24, 2018 Snowy Range Mountains, Wyoming

75 and sunny, with lots of smoke. We went hiking in the Snowy Range Mountains.

Looking down at Lewis Lake. Stony outflow of a pond.

John heading toward South Gap Lake. Still snow up here. Colorful flowers, columbine, fireweed, bees on a queens crown, butterfly and kings crown.

Lots of boulders and a view of south Gap Lake.

South Gap lake below the cliffs. Yellow flowers, moss campion, curly dock, stone crop and cinquefoil.

North Gap lake and shelf lake #2 with fireweed in foreground.

North Gap lake below the cliffs. We had to scamper over large boulders on parts of the trail around North Gap lake.

View coming back down. Fall colors in the alpine tundra, fireweed, zig zaggy creek, hare bells and an aspen tree with a face from the hike to Green Mountain falls.
Sunset over the campground.
