October 23-26, 2019 Eugene to Florence, Oregon

Foggy in the am. About 2pm the sun came out and in the 60's. Very pretty. Looks like most of the work at Oregon Motor Coach is done. Our new awnings are arriving sometime next week. Our new toilet, to replace the leaky one we have is on backorder. We will hopefully leave tomorrow  to the coast and come back when it is all in.

We went for a nice walk at Dorris Ranch this afternoon with Leslie and Scott. The fall colors and the sunshine were beautiful.

Dorris Ranch is getting ready for halloween festivities this weekend. Looks like they will have a scary bus, that is too scary for anyone under 10 and a fun house. More was  being set up. Pumpkins along the walkway. We escaped the city and are on our way to the coast. Beautiful fall colors.

Mossy trees on the way to the coast. The bus parked at Harbor Vista RV park.

Dune grass on the beach. Flowers, some kind of sand bug, seagull in the waves, sunset light on an oyster shell. It just lit it up. A piece of jelly from a jelly fish reflecting and transmitting the sunset colors.

John walking in front of the dunes.Sanderlings chasing wave

John took this of me with the sunset. Pink fog on the point.

Sunset reflected in the water off the river. We had lunch today with Phil and Andrea. We met them a couple springs ago when they camped next to us at the Tombigbee River in Alabama. We kayaked with the alligators together and had all you can eat catfish with them at Bobby's fish camp. They were traveling down the coast and we hooked up. Great to see them.

Before lunch we started a project of replacing one of the blinds in the bedroom and I recovered the window box that goes around it. The fabric was frayed and ripped on both sides. It came out looking pretty good. Tomorrow John will put the box back together and and rehang it and the new blackout blinds. I won't have to hang towels over the windows anymore when we are parked under big lights. Sunset started going down behind a cloud bank. I was not sure it would do much else after that.

Later the sky turned pink and I took this of sunset. John removing the second window box and shade and putting it back together with the new blind clips.

The finished windows. The bottom on I recovered the beige part of it, looks pretty good. The blinds are more brown than in the photo. They are black out blinds. No more pinning up towels over the window when we are by bright lights! John in the dunes. We went for a walk on the beach this afternoon. The wind was really high and cold. We walked around in the dunes a bit, it was warmer.

John coming down a dune. The wind was really blowing, all this foam was racing away from me.

Clouds reflection. Blowing sand.

The sun morphed into some weird shapes setting through the clouds.  Sunset with dune grass.
