March 16-20, 2020 Shoshone, California

Little rain last night. 60's, partly cloudy and windy. I am sick with something, but not COVID-19, some kind of stomach flu. Resting and drinking fluids not out taking photos as much. These were yesterday.

I went out biking, thinking it might make me feel better. The sky is a brilliant blue with beautiful clouds.

We went to the hot springs in Tecopa and soaked. This sign is at the office. COVID protections- all customer service volunteers sent home. Only security and maintenance staff on site. No face to face interactions. Pay in exact change or paypal. Prices below. Desert mushroom, poppy, pincushion, desert dandelion. Amazing how seeing flowers in person is so uplifting.

Desert gold, desert star, gravel ghost, spiny herb. Desert gold, spiny caper, phacelia.

Desert 5  spot, side view and top view, they do open up farther, but didn't today for me. Chickory, and ravens at the dumpsters. It is almost like the movie the birds going to the dumpster with the huge group of ravens. Sunset tonight.

Walked with my sister to the recycle on the other end of town. There was a flock of vultures circling town. Looks like they roosted here last night. Sunset last night.

Feeling better. Was working on my basket in the lawn chair watching this hummingbird at our feeder. The feeder was a gift from our friend Karin.I just finished the masterpiece. It is 12 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Made with natural and dyed pine needles polyester flat waxed cord, glass beads. The center is a piece of glass that I fused with layers of dichroic glass. The edges are beveled and polished. It is set in resin with holes drilled in the edges to stitch to.

Another view of the masterpiece. Hiking the white trail this afternoon. Shadows on the mountains. Beautiful day.

The whole state of California is now on lock down. We are supposed to stay home unless going to the grocery store, drug store, health care or only essential jobs. All non essential businesses are closed.  We are all still healthy. We are going to just stay here in Shoshone.

Toni is wearing the best shirt for social distancing. Free Hugs, with some kind of scorpion/snake over it.  Judy and Toni demonstrating  social distancing while hiking.

More shadows and cool clouds. The desert 5 spot is finally open. We are debating whether this yellow flower is a desert chicory or a desert dandelion. A field of tiny wooly daisies.
Sunset tonight.
