Evening light on the White Trail. Wooly daisy, evening primrose, desert gold and yellow flowers. Also saw pygmy poppies and a horny toad, but both photos were blurry.
Sunset tonight. We went on a hike with the Tecopa Hiking Club (THC) to Gunsight mine. This is the ore chute at the bottom of the Gunsight. It was a huge silver mine.
One of many mine shafts at the Gunsight mine. The mountain was like Swiss cheese there were so many holes. Jim and Kelly walking along a trail of sorts with a retaining wall. There was a lot of rock work like this all the way up.
Judy, Kelly and Jim ahead on the trail. The view looking down.
John and Lorraine right below us. You can see the ore chute way, way down below. A group shot of the THC. Jim, Lorraine, Judy, Kelly, Roger and John.
A large mine and a kind of crooked mine.
Bear Poppy plant, close up of a bud of the bear poppy, turpentine plant bloom and a bonsai looking bush. We climbed over and around some collapsed tunnels, up and through this one.
Old shoring timbers holding up a low ceiling. Jim coming through the opening.
Judy D coming though the same opening. The view. There are roads and mines all over in here.
Kelly, Jim, Roger and Judy at the top of a sub peak. Kelly, Jim, Roger and Judy on the top peak.
Judy, Jim and Roger on the way back down. Lunch by the big shaft with Roger, Kelly, Jim and Judy.
