February 4-7, 2023 Shoshone, California

67 and sunny today. Very little wind.

Sunset last night. I wanted to see how the new thread colors, the gray in the center and the dark blue on top looked, and wanted to use the elephant beads. Came out real cute.  4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass and blue magnetite beads and the center is a piece of dichroic glass I fused.

I wanted to see how this bright light green thread looked and made this basket. John said it looked like a St  Paddy's day basket, so I added the shamrock. Dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads and a piece of green dichroic glass I fused in the center. 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.  Late afternoon light on Lake Robbie in Shoshone on our afternoon walk today.

Sunset tonight. The almost full moon rising in the sunset tonight.

I spent most of the day working on this basket. So far it is 8 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 inches. Dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads and the center is 3 dichroic glass pendants I fused that didn't sell. This is sunset on the only cloud in the sky last night.

John has been very busy working on the White trail. The part of the trail Judy and John are standing on was washed out. He hauled lots of rocks and dirt and fixed it.

John built this nice water bar on the White trail to divert some of the water that has been running down the trail and washing it out. John is showing Judy where he wants to divert some more water with another water bar higher up

Judy ahead of me on the White Trail. I am surprised she is not leaning left, there were very strong winds. Looking up canyon from the trail in Dublin Gulch.

I finished this lovely basket. It is made from dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass, clay, metal and gemstone beads. The center is 3 dichroic pendants I made that did not sell.  9 x 8 x 3. Different sides shown to see the different beads.

The bottom. I almost like the back of stitching better. After I made it I found that one I made last year almost matches. A color scheme I like I guess.

67, sunny and windy. John sitting in sun keeping an eye on the pork roast he is smoking for dinner. We had a small potluck dinner tonight. Susan, James, Judy D and John. Not pictured is Judy P. We all had a nice visit and great dinner.

Sunset.
