62 and sunny.
Linda came over for another basket session and finished the cute one. The color of the photo in the shade does not do it justice. We were having so much fun we didn't notice it was cooling off outside till we were chilled. I started this new masterpiece and stayed up till midnight working on it. It is 10 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches so far. I think it will be a big one. I fused the glass center and the two pieces on the sides. More to come.
It is coming along. 74 and sunny, hardly any wind. John and Judy on the White Trail evaluating another spot that is washed out and needs some work.
Lizard posing for a photo with last years seeds on a desert holly. John and Judy on the White trail with Shoshone in the background.
I walked over the RV park. My friend /Dee who I met 5 years ago at the Desert Sierra Club meeting here in Shoshone and been friends with for the last 5 years, is here for the same meeting is staying at the RV Park. The campground is right on Lake Robbie. I found her at the warm spring pool.
Last night we walked to the Crowbar and John got us chocolate cake a la mode. Mmmmm mmm We went to a talk at the museum by Ken Layne- The Desert Oracle. Toni introducing him.
There was an overflowing crowd, we had to sit outside. Ken has a radio show the Desert Oracle and has published a book named the Desert Oracle. He tells fascinating tales of the desert, strange tails, singing sand dunes, artists and aliens etc. It was a great talk. Here he is signing his book.
A road runner hanging out at the Crowbar. High of 77 degrees, sunny with light breezes. I took a nice hike on the Red trail, to the Aqua trail and back on the Sage trail. The trails are named after the color of the paint used on the trail markers. The paint for the Sage trail was actually called celery, but name was changed to Sage. These trails go through the Shoshone wetlands and along the edge of the badlands. View from the Aqua trail.
High of 81, sunny and windy in the am. Sunset tonight was lovely. Looking west. There was a streak across the sky from west to east. Sunset looking east.
This coyote trotted down the street, stopped to check for dates to eat under the palm tree. My friend came over for dinner this evening. John cooked yummy meat ball kabobs. I met Dee 5 years ago at the Sierra Club meeting and we have been friends on Facebook since. We had some trouble hooking up here with no cell service, but finally connected. Nice to see her.
