October 6-7, 2024 Lake Sakakawea State Park, North Dakota

 High of 71 and sunny.

Driving north we past lots more corn fields and a bunch of windmills.  Also saw lots of hay fields.

Beautiful, historic, downtown Pick City, North Dakota. We are now camped at Lake Sakakawea state park, right on the lake.

We were the only ones in our loop of 110 sites. Sunset over the bus.

Sunset over the lake. Waxing crescent moon.

I saw auroras last night! I didn't see this much with my naked eye, but my phone camera did. I took about 150 photos, but these were the best.

The Dam Bar, the best dam bar by a dam site. Yes there is a dam here. Notice Lewis and Clark on the roof.  The marina at Lake Sakakawea.

Interesting little inlet. We are camped on that far point.

Dry boat storage. The swim beach.

This campground has over 200 sites. The loop we are in has 110. Last night we were the only ones in our loop. Today these people arrived and camped right across the street from us. . . Sunset, no clouds.

Did I mention there are a ton of flies here? They have been congregating on our screens. These guys must have found a spot they liked.
