The next day we lazed around camp. John smoked some meat. We did a small hike down to Early Winters Creek that runs through the campground.
Cedar cones and a cup shaped mushroom. We had the neighbors Robert and Diane over for dinner. John made smoked pork and whipped cauliflower and I made a salad and chocolate cupcakes, Diane brought ice cream. We tasted some local beers. They hiked all the hikes we did, and more, we had a lot to talk about.
They have also been on the road for 3-4 months from Austin, Texas. They travel with two cats and put this cage on the side of their trailer attached through some inside storage and the cats can go outside if they want. We drove down to Newhalem campground over the pass. This is the bus in the new site. Much wetter here-as we go farther west.
We walked around on the river trail through old growth forest. The moss was back lit nicely by the evening sun.
The Skagit river is glacial blue and runs through camp. The trail by the river.
The trail and John by the river.
The trail through the moss. Back lit moss.
