March 1-5, 2022 Death Valley, California

 90 and sunny.

Here I am with the new thermometer at Furnace Creek Visitors center. It has a new mosaic with it. It was 90 degrees. Seems a bit early for 90, but it is March after all. The Ranch at Death Valley is across the street from the campground. It is newly remodeled. Not quite to my liking, but coming to together nicely.

Made progress on the current masterpiece. When it is this hot sitting in the shade and working on it seems like the best thing to do. Sunset was skimpy on clouds, but caught this one.

John BBQed some nice juicy chicken for dinner tonight. Another 90 degree day. I sat in the shade once again and worked on the masterpiece. I put three pieces of birch bark in the windows between rows.  It is coming along nicely.

Sunset tonight to the west. Sunset tonight to the east.

We were watching these cool clouds waiting for them to turn pink. This is as close as they got.  I like the wave like clouds and the palm trees. The masterpiece is close to done now. I just need to add beads around it's neck. It is 7 x 7 1/2 x 6 inches.

Nice clouds for sunset tonight. We were thinking of going back to Shoshone today, but the forecast is for much cooler and a possibility of snow. Down here it is much warmer and more chance of rain. So we stayed down here.

It was a very relaxing day. I spent the whole day putting beads on my basket and finishing it. Not sure I am pleased with them, but they are on there now. Watching clouds and shadows from the campground.

Last light on the Funeral mountains to the east.  New moon setting.

We bought showers, which includes this lovely pool. We hung out for a few hours here. It was partly sunny and in the low 70's.

I added these beads to the masterpiece and it is done.

This huge rainstorm blew by over the Funeral Mountains just to the east of us. the rain missed us. There were nice clouds for sunset tonight.

The sun backlit some virga over the Panamint mountains to the west tonight.
