March 31, 2022 Shoshone, California

 80 and sunny.

We hiked with the Tecopa Hiking club in the Nopah Mtns. View looking west.

The hike was a good bye to Kelly who is leaving after wintering here. Kelly, Roger, Kristen and Michael overlooking.

Kristin ahead of me as we  hike around to the canyon. Roger, Michael and Kristin heading up the narrow canyon.

Kristen and Michael going up a small dry fall. Carol with Mojave aster blooms in the foreground.

Mohave suncup, pincushion, desert stars, and mojave aster. Lunch in the canyon.

John walking down a colorful wash. Tiny cactus, cottontop  barrel cactus, gravel ghost and gravel ghost with pincushions and cryptantha.

Roger petted this cactus on the way by. Pincushions, road runner and a cool looking rock.

Looking west  at the Panamint mountains distance on the west side of Death Valley. I finished this small basket. It is 6 1/2 x 6 x 1 3/4 inches. It is made from dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads and a small turtle bead on the side. The center is a piece of dichroic glass I fused.

Same basket from the front. I started this masterpiece. I fused the center glass piece that is sunrays in the aspen trees in the center. It is 6 inches in diameter so far.

Sunset tonight.
