November 26, 2023 Eugene to Cape Arago, Oregon

 High of 45 and a sunny day.

It was 24 degrees last night. Brrr. No fog, but woke up to heavy frost. We walked with Scott and Leslie at Mt Pisgah Arboretum this afternoon. It was beautiful out, but only in the 40's.

Walking the dog and there was still frost on the ground in the shade at 3 pm.

Woke up to 27 degrees and freezing fog. Into Eugene the fog was only over the rivers. Farther south there was still fog, with frost rimed trees.

Over the Umpqua river the fog began to disappear. The bridge into South Bend over the Umpqua river. 

This campsite at Bastendorf county park looked to be divinely chosen, but we had reserved  the one across the way. Besides the other guy was the only one on this side of the loop, it would have been rude to camp next to him. I wrapped  6 more   pendants. I like this new style.

At Simpson reef there were a ton of loudly barking sea lions and harbor seals. It was low tide, so no big waves.

Fuel was only $3.87 a gallon, so John filled up, There was another 60 gallons before these. , Let Freedom ring, with a little trailer on a wheel cover on a 5th wheel, lines in the sand, a closed sea anemone above the waterline, our funky Christmas wreath I made from a cedar branch that grounds keeper had cut off near our campsite. We don't have room for a tree. turban snails in the tide pools, sea stars, and anemones. 

Sunset on South Cove beach. Anemones, sea star, snail, not sure what this orange thing is, but it was about 8 inches long. It may have been trash, or a sea creature, closed anemones, sculpin fish, and cool rocks on the beach.

I have always wanted to see the Christmas lights at Shore Acres. We just happened to be there and it was not all reserved, so we went in. It was a lot of lights, I don't think there was a shrub in there that did not have lights. Under the sea lights, and whales. Heron Christmas lights, flowers and a lady bug, puffins,  a flower with a bee that was flapping his wings, a ship and a dragon fly. It was really pretty.

The gardener's house all lit up. Inside was a fire in the fireplace, cookies, cider and hot chocolate. This was a series of frogs jumping over the pond.
