72 and sunny.
The floor of Death Valley is usually a dry salt playa called Lake Manley. With all the water from hurricane Hillary earlier this year is is full of water. We decided to boat it. My boat. John on Lake Manley.
John on Lake Manley. Cloud reflections. It was unbelievably magic out there.
John boating Death Valley.
Reflections on Lake Manley. John in the cloud reflections.
Reflections. John on Lake Manley.
The water was about a foot deep. This is what it looked like looking over the edge of the boat. The salt solution was so super saturated that there were crystals in the water that glinted in the sun. Reflection of the far shore and the Panamint mountains.
John heading back to shore. A rock sticking out of the salt formations. The salt crystalized on the bottom of my boat. we had thick salt on everything.
My boat in Lake Manley. Last light.
