December 6-7, 2023 Benbow, to Ukiah California

 65 and sunny.

Fall colors on 101 heading south. Not sure what that light is, it has been so long since we have seen the sun. Redwood souvenirs shop.

The Avenue of the Giants was beautiful. The road is narrow and the redwoods came right up to the edge of the road. It is pretty dark in them, so the photo is a bit blurry. We are parked at the Benbow RV park, in Benbow, California. 65 and sunny with fall leaves.

I finished this beauty today. It is made with dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads and the center is a piece of glass I fused. It is 11 x 3 1/2 inches. I love this piece of glass, the basket came out well. A rose blooming at the RV park.

Sunset was lovely.

We came to visit my good friend from college Kay. She took us to dinner at the Historic Benbow Inn for dinner. It was great to visit with her and the food was yummy.

High of 55, cloudy and rainy. A 'Bigfoot' gift shop in the redwoods.

We spent the night at a Harvest Host winery- Nelson family winery outside of Ukiah. Our view from the bus.

More of our view. They have two event areas. The Redwoods and the Oaks. Both nice venues.

John with Rachel as we were wine tasting. The vineyard has been in the family since 1951.They own 2,000 acres. 200 hundred acres in grapes, 40 in pears and some new in olive trees. The bus at our camp spot. It was in a beautiful canyon surrounded by rolling hills with grass and oak trees. I grew up in the bay area playing in  this kind of county. I love it. It was totally dark and quiet at night. Except for the rain. Even had some coyotes howling right next to the bus.

A full rainbow-with a few raindrops on the lens. Sunlight coming though drops of water on the fall leaves, lichen and oak galls on the oak tree.

Sun came out briefly, Very beautiful. This is a second rainbow. It was not a full arc.

Old vines grapes. Christmas ornaments on the tree in the tasting room, fall oak leaves, a Camilla, oak galls, fall leaves in hanging moss, grapes and acorns that wood peckers have stored in the oak tree bark.

This little bit of sunset snuck in between rain storms.
