85 today and sunny.
I went for a long bike ride up the South Fork of the Salmon River and photographed flowers. A profusion of penstemons. The South Fork of the Salmon River on a mellow section.
Penstemons, lupine and mountain mahogany. Wild strawberry, paint brush, violet and stone crop.
Yarrow, a ruffled grouse, I took a photo of this salsify partly open, took a photo of another flower and turned back and it was all the way open. Arnica, hare bells and a mushroom with a centipede curled up under it.
Ocean spray flowers in a burn area. The rest of the crew was heading to boat on the East Fork of the South Fork of the Salmon river, the Catlin section. They managed to get all 5 boats on John G's forerunner.
John's photo of boating on the East Fork of the South Fork of the Salmon river. The group entering some narrows. Larry and John G.
Larry cruising a rapid, making it look easy. Larry and Jennie in a rapid.
Jennie hitting whitewater. John G. running a good line.
Jennie in whitewater. Coral bells, wild rose and mouse eared chickweed.
Cinquefoil, rosy pussy toes, grass with pollen, and buckwheat. Meanwhile I was sitting neck deep in refreshing cool water, between these two rocks with bubbly water running down my back. Guarding camp.
I am about 99% done with this basket. The center is a dichroic glass jewel that I beveled and polished. Made with natural and dyed pine needles, polyester thread, and glass beads. It is 5 x 2 1/2 inches. Chiming bells, a spider that was hanging under these thimbleberry blossoms.
Jennie made yummy chicken fajitas for dinner and killer chocolate death bars. The kitchen after dinner and before clean up.
Sunset sort of, no clouds, just the rosy other side of the canyon. Been working on this new basket the last two days. Another of my dichroic glass jewels that I beveled and polished in the center. Dyed and natural pine needles, polyester thread and glass beads. It is 7 x 2 inches so far.
Spring beauty close up and a bit back, white clover and cinquefoil. Buckwheat, yellow pea flower, white flowering bush and a staghorn clarkia.
White elderberry, bed straw and stone crop.
