June 12-13, 2021 Last Chance Glass Studio, Walla Walla, Washington to Cottonwood, Idaho

81 degrees and sunny. The bus thermometer said it was 92.

On the road again. Volcanic rock formations along the Columbia River. The Columbia river is so big it almost looks like the ocean.

A field of yellow rapeseed and blue sky. Welcome to Washington. A Walla Walla sweet onion stand. I checked them out, but they only came in 10 lb bags, so I passed.

We are camped at another Harvest Host site, Last Chance Glass Studio. We have this lovely campsite with a table and fire ring. It was great fun to tour a glass studio and see beautiful glass art. I spent the after noon talking to Erica about glass. Don't get much chance to do that. Here are some of her masterpieces. An excellent frit painted red-tailed hawk ,cute fish by Tracy, Erica's husband, a large platter and a wine rack. She also shows at a local winery.

I finished this masterpiece. My friend Pam made the center with amethyst in it., natural and dyed pine needles, polyester thread and glass beads. It is 10 x 11 x 2 inches.

I started this little guy today on our long 4 hour drive. The center is a dichroic glass rainbow. It was an old earring that I turned into a center. It is about 5 x 2 1/2 inches. Natural pine needles, polyester thread. The top two rows are Indian wrapped. I will finish the top and add beads around the center. The creek we are camped next too at Last Chance Glass.

Nice clouds right before sunset, but they went away at sunset. Teasel against the sunset.

Erica Gordon, the glass artist at Last Chance glass  bought some of my jewels to sell in her gallery! Another 4 hour day on the road . through eastern Oregon and western Idaho, all rolling hills covered with crops.

Lots of grain elevators today. A barn by the road.

Beautiful historic downtown Pomeroy, Washington.  We waited to see Waitsburg, wild mills, Industrial Bag Company-Burlap and cotton bags, Welcome to Idaho, and the tie dyed muffler man and the Uniroyal  Tire gal in Pomeroy, Washington.

At Lewiston we turned south along the Snake River. I started this one, before I finished the last one. It has a dichroic glass jewel I beveled and polished in the center. Natural pine needles  and polyester thread.  It is about 2 x 5 inches.

We are now camped at Seubert RV park outside of Cottonwood, Idaho literally in the middle of farmland. View from camp today
