High of 82 degrees and sunny. We drove for 4 more grueling hours today to McCall. It is a beautiful drive. The shocks on the bus are really stiff and we were on bumpy roads and after 3 long days of driving I feel beat up. We usually drive about 50-100 miles a week, and then stay a week or two.
We saw this in Cottonwood, Idaho. I looked it up and this is what their website says: "Dog Bark Park Inn is a bed & breakfast guesthouse inside the World's Biggest Beagle. Guests enter the body of the beagle from a private 2nd story deck. Some of the dog's decorative furnishings are carvings by Dog Bark Park chainsaw artists Dennis & Frances. Inside and up another level to the head of the dog is a loft room with additional sleeping space plus a cozy alcove in the muzzle." We drove down the White Bird grade 3,000 feet in to the Salmon River canyon. It is beautiful.
Beautiful historic downtown Riggens, ID. It is in the heart of river running country so it has lots of river outfitters, rafting companies, restaurants and hotels. It is in a deep narrow canyon right next to the Salmon river. We entered the mountain time zone. We lost an hour. I haven't even gotten used to daylight savings time and I am not a morning person. All this travel between time zones my body does not know what time it is. Remember that Beer has food value, but food has no beer value, an antique sign for the Foresters club with cocktails in McCall. I have never actually seen a gopher in action, much less the gopher, but we had one right in our campsite. Seen on this RV, Gallivanting Gracefully.
We are camped at the McCall RV Resort. It is a very fancy nice resort. Our view is of aspens and the Payette River a couple 100 yards below us. Of course there is a brewery within walking distance, so we walked over so John could sample their IPA's.
There was a blue grass jam going on at the brewery. I love blue grass. This is the lodge at the RV resort and their lobby. Huge log lodge with the lobby, a large common room with a nice kitchen, pool, a workout room, really nice bathrooms/showers and a laundry room
The Payette river right below our campsite. The water is crystal clear. John dining on our patio tonight. In this new time zone it is light until almost 10 pm. We eat later and go to bed later.
Two wild flowers in our campsite. The sliver moon in the tree branches tonight from our campsite.
Deer in the campground this afternoon. I am about done with this little basket. 5 x 2 inches.
Sunset tonight from camp. Our friend Jennie is here for the night. She is also on her way for the big kayaking trip with John. John BBQ'd some steaks and yams for us. We head down into the South Fork of the East Fork of the Salmon river and will be off grid for a week.
