December 31, 2022- January 2, 2023 Quartzsite , Arizona

 66 and mostly cloudy.

I went to Gem world in Tucson because I had heard it was better than the Gem world here in Quartzsite. Well who ever told me that was wrong. The one here is much bigger and much better. I don't need a lot more beads, so I only got a few and found some good chokers for my pendants. The place is like a gem and mineral store. The rocks are incredible. Didn't get any of them, but I loved looking at them. And the prices are incredible.

Quartzite is known for it's huge garage sale of booths. Fortunately it is too early in the year for many, but I checked them out too. The adult day care center was  open. Some cool clouds around sunset.

Sunset. We went to be early on New years eve. It rained pretty hard in the early morning on New Years.

We are parked out in the desert on dirt and were a bit concerned about what that would be like driving out after a rain storm. The ground got wet, not muddy and stayed very firm. We don't need to move the bus so it was not an issue. I drove into town to visit my friend Pam with no problems. The ground dried very quickly.

The ground dried up very quickly. More storms rolled through north and south around sunset. Lots of cool looking clouds.

Sunset was in bits and pieces around the rain storm clouds.

A bit of color to the west under rain clouds. I made this whole basket because I wanted to use the glass  giraffe beads that I had. The round piece is an African trade bead in the giraffe pattern. The center is  a tropical seed. The beads inside are wooden and bone bleads. 6 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.

Kind of pre sunset. The sun was behind clouds when it actually went down. Two cool rigs. Nice paint job and a popped up school bus, named William the Schoolie.
