64 and sunny.
It was a beautiful say to kayak on the lake. John ahead. The water is such an amazing color here.
Nice side canyon. Heading into a side canyon.
Low tree obstacle to get into the side canyon. John was more graceful getting under it than I.
Skeleton on shore. We had lunch at Wylie's rest today.
The wind kicked up a bit on the way back and there were some waves. Rock caught in roots, brittle brush flowers, great blue heron with a coot behind him at the beach. The heron flew off as we got closer. Three coots and a mallard.
I was taking this photo of John and this coot took off in front of him. They run on top of the water to get airborne. John happily in back at the beach at camp.
I finished the two pendants on the left today. All three of these have similar glass in them. I wanted to try different color beads on them to see which I like the best. I like the far right one best. It has sold already. It has a mix of blue and aquamarine beads on it. I like the white one the least and them black on ok. They are fused, beveled and polished dichroic glass with beaded bezels and bails. About an inch in diameter. The beadwork is fun and much easier on my body than the baskets. It was 64 and partly sunny. We hike a loop today. John on Ted's trail.
John coming up the to high point of Ted's trail. The lake is in the background and the campground right behind John. Looking north from the highpoint at the desert.
The downhill portion of Ted's trail. Yellow flower with lantern shaped seed pods, weird clouds at sunset and some cranes flying overhead.
View from lunch. John at our lunch spot We were sitting on the trail. There seemed to be no one, but a couple came by and we asked them to just step over us.
I took this same photo a couple days ago when it was cloudy. I thought it would probably look better with the sun out. Looks good both ways.. Sunset started out very promising and then there was no more color.
