We moved to another campground away from the OHV noise. We moved to Harbor Vista Park a few miles north of the dune on the North Jetty.
Our campsite at Harbor Vista. John nabbed the only site with a view of the Siuslaw river entering the ocean.
I wanted to go to the beach so we drove to the jetty parking where there are deadly waves at any time. There are a few purple flowers and the rules for building a fire on the beach. There were lots of drift wood shelters on the beach. We decided they were wind breaks since there were 20 mph winds with gusts to 33 mph with blowing sand.
The waves on the north jetty were going over it. Huge logs are on the beack. The jetty was built with over a million tons of stone. Over 2 million road miles were logged to transport the stone here. John walking down the beach.
The sun peaking through the clouds and sunset from our campsite.
We wanted to watch a DVD of some Flash Gordon episodes. We hardly ever use the TV so it took us over 30 minutes and reading the manuals to figure out how to turn the sound up. We are TV illiterate. This morning the tide is out and below us is a huge beach.
There were harbor seals below. I went down to check it out. The top photo is from our campsite and the bottom photo is from down below much nearer. They are huge, they can weigh up to 300 lbs. A great egret on the beach.
Gulls, egret and cormorants on the rocks. Beach side flora.
Old pilings from an old pier and a crab, shell and barnacles on a mussel shell.
I finished this basket. It has a piece of glass I made in the center. It came out real cute.
