We went for a nice walk along the beach around sunset. It was lovely.
My favorite rant. We are in a campground with somewhere between 100-200 spaces. It is full for the weekend. I particularly like the people with the TV on outside, but no one watching it. Don't you wish you were their neighbors? The rest are lights left on at night, no one outside. The newer RV's have these bright rows of really bright LED lights right under the awning. They are not too bad with the awnings out, they only light up your campsite and the one next door, but most people don't bother with the awnings, so they light up a few other sites too. The new ones also have rows of LED in a decorative lightshow thing on the ends of the rigs, that only light up the road, their car and who ever is across the street and next door. You will notice in these photos no one is outside. They are inside and will most likely leave these on all night. Can you imagine being next door to these and maybe having a nice fire or candle light dinner? Or having them shine in your bedroom window or tent all night?? Not sure what is up with these campers. Is this what camping is becoming?? We now have black out shades in the bedroom, so it is not as much of an issue, but just seems rude. End of rant. We woke up this am to fog. This is fog at the beach.
Wind worked trees at the beach. The Wood Carver shop was closed, but they had cool carvings in the yard. We went to Beaver Creek Natural area. They have a 2 mile kayak trail there. It is through the marsh, you see lots of wildlife etc. We checked it out for future paddling. This tree had no leaves so not sure what it is, but is has beautiful red berries, lichens and moss.
Once we got into the park there was no fog, it stayed at the beach. We hiked a few miles of trails at Beaver Creek. Here is John on the bridge over the creek. A gopher, blooming fox gloves, black berries and a dandelion.
Mossy trees on the trail. John is on the trail in this photo, but he blends in with his camo coat.
We hiked up to the high point in the park, Snaggy Point, because you are supposed to get epic views of the Pacific Ocean. We got a nice epic view of fog over the ocean and a nice view of tree covered hills. The trail alternated from deep dark forest into bright green meadows.
Another mossy tree. John walking through fall colors.
Beaver Creek. On the way back we stopped at the Rogue Brewery. John with his IPA.
The brewery was huge. You walk through the brewing area to get to the pub. They have beer floats for dessert. We passed. We had a nice view of the marina in the bay with sunset while we had our beer.
The fog was dissipating when we left. This is the bridge with some sunset looking fog and a flock of sea gulls circling.
