We moved to the other side of Newport to Beverly Beach state park. We had not been here before. We snagged a sunny spot. We walked under the highway to get to the beach.
The 3/4 moon rising over beach houses. An incoming creek soaking into the sand.
Right behind the No digging or climbing on the cliffs some one dug this hobbity looking door. Me dressed for the beach. It was in the low 50/high 40's with a breeze and damp, The damp makes it freezing.
The 3/4 moon over the cliff. Looking south at Yaquina head with the light house on the end through foggy sunset.
Sunset. Sunset reflected with a couple of gulls.
Spencer Creek from the campground running into the ocean. Last look at the sunset under the bridge.
We walked up Spencer Creek. The trail leaves right by our campsite and goes around the campground. Windblown trees on the beach.
John in a creek entering the beach. Wind blown trees.
Windblown trees. Depoe Bay which has the world's smallest harbor.
We went to Depoe Bay which has the world's smallest harbor to check out the Depoe Bay Brewing Co. John did not like their IPA's, so here he is with a Scottish stout. He thought their beers were so so. I had a nice chocolate stout.
We had a great view of the ocean and sunset from our table. The building is the Whale Watching Center. It is supposed to be one of the best places to watch whales in the summer. John and I at our table. We had a nice dinner.
A couple of weird trees. They started out growing on top of big stumps, sent roots to the ground and eventually the stump decomposed and left the tree in the air. A shell fossil and some beach art. Beach driftwood art, beach flowers and a drift wood burl.
More shell fossils.
